Web application
from
$1800/ project
You have a business process that needs the right tool, or a product idea to put in users' hands. We start from your need, not from a spec document.
Book a first call30 minutes, no commitment, a few quick questions when you book.
who it's for
You're in the right place if
- You still run your business on Excel spreadsheets that can no longer keep up
- You want to test a product idea with real users
- Your teams re-enter the same data across several tools
- You have a clear need but no idea what the technical solution should be
Another package will suit you better if
- You are looking for a presentation website: the Business website package is a better fit
- You want a mobile app first: see the Mobile application package
- You need a one-off intervention on an existing application: let's talk, that is custom work
the process
First conversation
Your involvement: 30 minutes, a few quick questions when you book
We talk about your business and the problem to solve, not about technology. You leave with my honest opinion: if the project isn't ready or I'm not the right person, I tell you right then.
Scoping
Your involvement: 1 to 2 working sessions with you
I turn your need into a written scope: the screens, the users, what we build now and what we keep for later. This is where a vague need becomes a project that can be priced. You then receive a firm quote.
Mockups
Your involvement: One sign-off from you
You see the application before a single line of code is written. Fixing a screen at this stage costs a conversation; fixing it afterwards means development work.
Milestone-based development
Your involvement: A demo at each milestone
I deliver in working pieces and show them to you as we go. You never wait until the end to discover the result, and you can change direction along the way.
Launch and handover
Your involvement: Final acceptance testing
Production deployment, then handover: the code and the access are yours, with a walkthrough of the tool. You are not locked in with me for what comes next.
deliverables
- The application in production, on your domain name
- The complete source code, in your Git repository
- Hosting and database access, in your name
- A walkthrough of the tool with you or your teams
- The technical documentation another developer would need to take over
the budget
- The number of screens and of distinct user roles
- Integrations with your existing tools (payments, accounting, ERP…)
- Migrating data from your files or your old system
- Design expectations: an adapted template or a fully custom identity
what to prepare
To get started, all I need is
- One person on your side who can make decisions and answer my questions
- Being able to say what problem the application should solve - one sentence is enough
We build the rest together
If you have none of this, that's normal and it won't hold us back: that's exactly what the scoping step is for.
- The list of screens and features
- Who uses what, and with which permissions
- Your content, logo and brand guidelines, if you have them
- Access to the existing tools to connect
- Your current data to migrate, in whatever format it is in
questions
- I don't know exactly what I want. Is that a problem?
- No, and it is the most common situation. The scoping step exists precisely for that: my job is to turn “I need a tool to manage this” into a clear scope. You don't need to show up with a spec document.
- Why “from” and not a fixed price?
- Because a price announced before the scope is known is either inflated to cover the unknown, or a trap full of change orders. The amount shown is a floor; you receive a firm quote at the end of scoping, before any development commitment.
- Who owns the code once the project is delivered?
- You do, entirely, in your own repository. Hosting and database access are set up in your name. If you decide to continue with another developer, nothing holds you back.
- I'm not based in Kinshasa. Is that a problem?
- No. I work remotely with regular video calls, and the milestone demos are designed precisely so you can follow progress without being on site.
get started
The first call is about finding out whether the project holds up. If it doesn't, I'll tell you - that's more useful to you than a quote.
